Artful Impressions – Cocoon

Last Spring I did a maternity session for my sister – she was expecting my nephew anytime at that point and was literally ready to burst. Amongst the portraits I did of her and her husband, I endeavoured to create a couple of unique and “artful” images like the one above for her. I surprised myself with how well it turned out and I’m really proud of this one. With the assistance of a wonderful friend, the title of “Cocoon” was decided for it. It is another unusual image for me, but given it’s unique artful nature, I realized that it too belongs in the gallery of my Artful Impressions.

This is also another image I had submitted to the PPA Western States competition for the PPA. Out of the three images I submitted, it scored the highest, won a Seal of Approval and will be automatically entered into the PPA International Competition this summer. 🙂
